If you live in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or if you own or are employed by a company in Pennsylvania, you can participate in the Pennsylvania Heat Pump Pathways (PHPP) program. This program is a good fit for you if you are looking for stable work and a clear career path. You’ll learn or improve your HVAC skills and connect to people that are hiring.

If you are already employed in the HVAC industry, you can upgrade your skills and participate in the Penn Energy Savers Program (PESP).

Support Services Available
New and existing workers can get money through the PHPP program. Dollar amounts and eligible services are determined on a case-by-case basis during the application process.
North American Technician Excellence (NATE) Air to Air Heat Pump Installation Specialty Exam
If you have a job in HVAC,you can take the NATE Air to Air Heat Pump Installation Specialty Exam to test out of the PHPP training requirements, and the PHPP program will pay for it. If you pass, you can be listed as a Qualified Contractor in the Penn Energy Savers Program, as long as you meet their eligibility requirements.
Finding a Job After Completing the Program
PHPP works with employers and workforce partners to help you get a job. Through these connections, participants are linked to real job opportunities in the industry.
